Instant Pot Carne Asada

This Instant Pot Carne Asada Recipe is incredibly quick & easy to make, but also extremely flavorful and juicy. Plus, the meat turns out so tender it practically falls apart! And, best of all, this Instant Pot Carne Asada comes together in just 30 minutes and makes 8 delicious servings. At only 1.5g carbs per serving, this keto carne asada is simply one of the BEST things you can do with an Instant Pot and some beef. 


2 lbs. (907g) Flank Steak

¼ cup (60ml) Liquid Aminos

½ cup (120ml) Beef Broth or Beef Bone Broth

4 tbsp. (60g) Fresh Lime Juice

1 tsp. Garlic Powder

1 tsp. Ground Cumin

¼ tsp. Chili Flakes

½ Red Onion (60g) - sliced

2/3 tsp. Salt

¼ tsp. Black Pepper

1 tbsp. (15g) Olive Oil


  1. Season the meat with salt and pepper. 
  2. Turn your Instant Pot to sauté mode and brown your meat for 5 minutes with olive oil (just one side is enough).
  3. Turn the meat so the browned side is facing up. 
  4. Season with garlic powder, cumin and chili. 
  5. Add liquid aminos and beef broth.
  6. Now place the sliced onion on top of the meat.
  7. Cook for 20 minutes on High pressure, then let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes.
  8. Using tongs, transfer meat to a plate and cut into stripes. 
  9. Serve in tortillas with fresh coriander and limes, a dash of crushed cayenne pepper and some sour cream if desired.


The nutritional info is based on the Carne Asada itself and does not include the tortilla. Not everyone will use the tortillas for the recipe, so I did not include it for the nutritional info.
