Sautéed Brussel Sprouts Cooked Perfectly In Under 10 Minutes

Sauteed brussels sprouts garnished with chopped hazlnuts in a small square cast iron skillet. Behind it is a bowl of whole hazelnuts, salt and pepper shakers, and a plate of lemon with half a lemon wedge.

These sauteed brussel sprouts are so quick and easy to make, and they're so incredibly delicious too. They make the perfect side dish to accompany any main dish. They're tender and garlicky, and they have crisp golden brown edges and a crunchy topping. Gah, they're just so good. Plus, the best part is that these sauteed brussel sprouts are ready in less than 10 minutes!

Ingredients

2 tbsp olive oil

1lb. Brussels sprouts (halved if large), trimmed

2 cloves garlic, sliced

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tbsp lemon juice

2 tbsp blanched hazelnuts, chopped (or any nuts you want)

Instructions

  1. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat. Add oil and heat it. 
  2. Add Brussels sprouts and cook them without moving for 6-7 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook, lightly tossing for 30 seconds.
  4. Finally, add lemon juice, and hazelnuts. Remove the skillet from the heat. Let the residual heat from the skillet cooks the hazelnuts until the nutty flavor develops. 
  5. Season the Brussels sprouts with salt and pepper. Toss gently and serve warm.
