THE BEST 3 INGREDIENT PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

These peanut butter cookies are a fantastic treat to make during the holiday season, but they're so quick, easy, and tasty that you'll want to make them year-round!

They're tender, perfectly sweetened, and packed with peanut butter deliciousness in every bite.

Honestly, it's hard to believe something this yummy is made in just 15 minutes with only 3 pantry staples, but it's true!

Yeah, it's pretty crazy these easy peanut butter cookies are made with no eggs and no butter, yet the texture is to die for.

Oh, and a bonus is that you can sneak a few bites of the dough while making them since it's totally safe to do so!

And as a huge peanut butter fan myself, this recipe is right up there with my other all-time favorite peanut butter cookies - these Nutter Butters and Nut Clusters. So give those a try after you make these 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies!

Hey stack of four peanut butter cookies and a white surface. Behind the stack is white bowl of peanut butter.

    INGREDIENTS

The ingredients for this recipe are all common pantry staples, so there's a good chance you already have everything you need to make them.

In other words, nothing's stopping you from making these addictive peanut butter cookies right this second!

Here are the 3 ingredients you'll need for these perfectly sweetened peanut butter cookies:

    • Just under ¾ Cup peanut butter
    • ½ Cup sugar
    • ⅔ Cup self-rising flour

As you can see, all of these are ingredients you probably already have on hand. But if you don't, running to the store is worth every second! And if you want, you can also add in some mini chocolate chips for a chocolate peanut butter flavor.

And make sure you get some natural peanut butter. I've found that the more oily peanut butter is best, and creamy peanut butter works too for these cookies. Oh, and Smuckers is one of my favorite natural peanut butters - I also use it to make these keto peanut butter cookies.

HOW TO MAKE 3 INGREDIENT PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

The process of making these 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies recipe is just as easy as you'd expect - maybe even easier.

All you have to do is combine the ingredients, mix them to make cookie dough, and bake. That's all it takes!

And since it's so simple, you can easily double or triple this recipe for a bigger group - which is a great idea because these cookies disappear from the plate fast.

Now, get out the ingredients, and let's get baking!

A white bowl filled with peanut butter with flour on top, an empty white bowl behind it, and a bowl with some flour in it all on a gray counter.

STEP 1: MAKING THE COOKIE DOUGH

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175°C).

Next, add the natural peanut butter and sugar to a bowl and give them a mix with a rubber spatula to combine.

Then, add the flour to the bowl, and mix everything together until a peanut butter cookie dough forms.

    STEP 2: BAKING THE COOKIES

Now, once you have a cookie dough, take out a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.

Then, form about 1 tablespoon-sized balls out of the dough with your hands or a cookie scooper.

Next, evenly arrange the cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and press each dough ball down with the prongs of a fork, making a criss-cross pattern. Since the cookies don't flatten while baking, this will help flatten them evenly while adding those classic peanut butter cookie lines.

Two rolls of three peanut butter cookies on top of a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet. There is a crisscross pattern in the cookies and a fork is on top of one of the cookies.

Now that the cookies are formed, put the baing sheet in the oven and bake them for about 10 minutes, or until they reach your desired consistency and are golden brown. The cookies are made with no eggs, so you can undercook them if you like a doughier cookie.

Finally, take these dreamy peanut butter cookies out of the oven and let them cool completely, pour yourself a glass of milk, and enjoy!

HOW TO STORE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

This recipe will make about 12 cookies, depending on the size you make them. And if you doubled or tripled the recipe, you did it right because they're fantastic leftover.

You can store the peanut butter cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. With that said, if you want to store them longer, you can keep them in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Before freezing your cookies, add a piece of parchment paper between each cookie to prevent them from sticking, and then transfer to an airtight container.

And when you're ready to enjoy them, either eat them chilled or transfer them to the fridge or counter to thaw.

MAKING THE COOKIE DOUGH AHEAD OF TIME

If you love freshly baked cookies and want to prepare a bunch of cookie dough ahead of time, you can store the uncooked peanut butter cookie dough.

It will last in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

For the refrigerated cookie dough, you can leave it right in the bowl and cover it tightly with plastic wrap.

If you freeze the dough, form the cookie dough balls and put them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper until solid. Then transfer to a freezer-safe bag.

When you're ready to bake, follow the instructions above and add a couple of minutes to the cooking time.
