THE BEST AIR FRYER KALE CHIPS
There's just something about a snack that is crunchy, salty, and you can continuously eat. However, most of the time, these types of snacks aren't really all that good for you - i.e. potato chips.
And that's really where these homemade kale chips come in clutch. The air fryer kale chips turn out so crunchy - just like potato chips do - and they are packed with nutrients, low in calories, and low in carbs. If you ask me, they're like the ultimate healthy snack.
Seriously, since these air fryer kale chips are made with, of course, kale, this snack is loaded with health benefits.
Plus, making them is almost as easy as opening a bag of chips. And these kale chips only take 5 minutes in the air fryer!
INGREDIENTS
So, as I mentioned, you will only need 3 ingredients to make this air fryer kale chip recipe.
And I guarantee you have 2 of them - maybe all of them - in your kitchen already!
Here is what you'll need to make air fryer kale chips:
- 5 Cups of Kale
- 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- ¼ Tsp. Salt
- Other Seasonings (optional)
Now, the other seasonings that you can add are optional and totally up to you! My favorite seasoning to use is the Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning to make some ranch kale chips.
But you can also top them with some parmesan cheese, garlic powder, or any other seasoning combination you want. And for some more homemade seasoning ideas, check out this article.

HOW TO MAKE KALE CHIPS IN AIR FRYER
Ok, so the process of making these kale chips is as simple as a recipe gets.
After just a little prepping, all you have to do is wait patiently for a few minutes until the kale chips crisp up to perfection in the air fryer.
So take out your air fryer, gather your ingredients, and let's make air fryer kale chips!
STEP 1: PREP
First, you will have to prep the kale before it can get turned into chips.
To start, thoroughly wash your bunch of kale and dry it well with paper towels.
Then, cut the leaves off from the spine of the kale and tear the leaves into chip-sized pieces. Oh, and don't discard the spine, it's super tasty in salads.
Next, take out a bowl and put your kale pieces in it. Then drizzle the olive oil on top, and make sure to completely coat each piece of kale. I've found that using your hands to mix the kale around in the oil is the best way to do this.
After the kale chips are completely covered in oil, sprinkle some salt - and other optional seasoning if you want - on top and give them a good mix.
STEP 2: AIR FRYING THE KALE
Now that the kale is prepared, it's time to crisp it up and turn it into chips!
First, heat your air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190°C). Then, lay the kale in a single layer on the air fryer rack. And make sure the kale pieces are not overlapping one another, so they all cook evenly - you may need to cook them in batches.
Anyway, now you'll want to air fry kale chips for about 3-5 minutes, giving the air fryer rack a little shake at about 2 minutes. Also, make sure to check them frequently after 3 minutes to ensure they do not overcook - you'll know the kale chips are done when they are crispy.
Finally, transfer the air fried kale chips from the basket to a plate, let them cool for a few minutes, and then let the snacking begin!
HOW TO STORE KALE CHIPS
So, this recipe will make 4 servings of air fryer kale chips. And since they store so well, you can double, triple, or even quadruple this recipe if you love kale chips as much as I do!
Then you'll always have some crunchy and salty deliciousness for when you're in the snacking mood and want crunchy chips.
And don't worry about making too many because you can store any kale chips you don't eat in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days!
I usually like to make enough all at once to last me the whole week, so I'm stocked up on this convenient and healthy snack.
WRAPPING IT ALL UP
Well, that is how to make air fryer kale chips!
The crunchiness and saltiness in these are just so satisfying and will have you forgetting all about regular potato chips!
