This copycat Starbucks skinny vanilla latte recipe combines coffee, milk, and a dash of vanilla flavor to make one tasty drink. It's sweet, creamy, and delicious, and it tastes just like the one from the coffee shop, except it has a fraction of the calories. Plus, you'll be able to save yourself quite a bit of money by making this skinny vanilla latte at home too!

A tall glass of iced vanilla latte on a wooden tray. Small pieces of ice are scattered around the tray and a small ceramic milk pot is in the back.

    The Best Skinny Vanilla Latte

If you've been looking for a caffeinated drink to sip on in the mornings but don't want all of the unnecessary calories, this skinny vanilla latte is for you!

It's so creamy and lightly sweetened, and it has the perfect balance of coffee and vanilla flavor. Not to mention, it only has 15 calories!

And honestly, after I made this skinny vanilla latte for the first time, I haven't been able to stop making it. It's now become part of my morning routine to wake up and make it. I think a big reason why that's happened is that it's so easy to make too. All you need to whip it up are 3 main ingredients.

By the way, if you're looking for something to pair it with, this low calorie cereal recipe is one you can't go wrong with. In fact, the past month I've been having the two together for breakfast, and I now can't imagine starting off my morning any other way!

    Ingredients

So, I mentioned that you need less than a handful of ingredients to make this skinny vanilla latte, and I can almost guarantee that you already have them on hand!

If not though, you'll want to stock up on 'em because I'm positive you'll be making this iced vanilla latte more than once!

Anyway, here's everything you'll need to make this low calorie iced vanilla latte recipe:

    • ¾ cup Chilled Brewed Coffee or Cold Brew Coffee
    • 1 tsp. Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup (or 2 tsps sugar free sweetener mixed with ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract)
    • ½ cup Almond Milk
    • Ice

    Pretty simple, eh?

A small glass of coffee next to two small square containers on a wooden tray. A small milk pot is in the back in front of a bowl of ice.

    Ingredient Substitutions & Suggestions

While I always make this recipe with the ingredients above, there are a few different substitutions you can make, and this skinny vanilla latte will be just as delicious.

First off, I like to use storebought cold brew coffee, but you can brew your own coffee and refrigerate it and use that instead.

As for the vanilla sweetener, you can either use a premade sugar free vanilla syrup, or you can mix 2 teaspoons of the sugar free sweetener of your choice with ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract. Having said that though, I like to use the Torani sugar free vanilla syrup.

Now, for the milk, I always use unsweetened vanilla almond milk to not only enhance the vanilla flavor in this skinny latte, but also because it's super low in calories. However, you could also use skim milk, soy milk, or any other unsweetened low calorie milk that you want! You could even use ultra-filtered milk - like Fairlife - to give the latte a boost of protein.

How to Make a Skinny Vanilla Latte

As I've mentioned, making this skinny vanilla latte at home could not be any easier.

Once you've brewed your coffee, all that's left to do is mix it with the vanilla sweetener, ice, and milk. How easy is that?

Now, let's not waste any more time and make this skinny vanilla Starbucks style, shall we?!

A hand pouring coffee from a small glass into a taller glass of ice. The glass is on a wooden board decorated with scattered pieces of ice. A small square bowl is next to the glass and a ceramic milk pot is behind it.

    Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

First things first, you'll want to fill the glass of your choice with ice. For what it's worth, I like to use a tall skinny glass, but anything will work.

Next, you'll want to pour your brewed iced coffee - or cold brew coffee - into a separate smaller glass, followed by the sugar free vanilla syrup or the 0 calorie sweetener of your choice. Now you can give those two ingredients a good stir so they can fully combine.

    Step 2: Combine and Serve

So, now you can pour your vanilla flavored coffee into the tall glass filled with ice.

Then, to finish it off, pour in the almond milk - or the milk of your choice - and give everything a stir until combined.

Finally, take a sip and enjoy!

How to Store Leftover Vanilla Latte

This homemade skinny vanilla latte recipe will make one latte. I always finish mine since it's just so addicting. But, if you don't finish it, you can store it for later.

To do that, just transfer whatever is leftover of the latte to an airtight container - or a sealable glass jar - and it will stay good in the fridge for up to 3 days. With that said, it will only last that long if you are using fresh coffee as opposed to leftover brewed coffee. Leftover brewed coffee will only stay good for about 4 days, so you'll want to factor that into how long you're planning on storing your latte.

    Wrapping It Up

Well, that's how to make a skinny vanilla latte at home!

This easy homemade low calorie iced latte is the ultimate hack for getting your iced coffee fix in the morning while keeping your calories in check. Plus, it's just as good - if not better - than anything you can get at Starbucks or any other coffee shop. And, what's even better is that you'll save a ton of time and money making it yourself.

Anyway, I hope you like this skinny vanilla latte recipe as much as I do.
