This iced skinny caramel macchiato is just as good as the regular caramel macchiato you'd get from Starbucks, but it has way fewer calories. In fact, this skinny macchiato has only 10 calories - the regular kind has over five times that amount - and it's every bit as sweet and creamy as the normal one from the store. Also, the best part about this homemade macchiato is that it takes just 1 minute to make!

The Best Skinny Caramel Macchiato
One of my absolute favorite drinks to order at Starbucks is the iced caramel macchiato. But, unfortunately, it's loaded with calories.
So, that's exactly why I decided to come up with my own homemade recipe for it. And, I've got to say, the results are to die for. This drink is creamy, slightly sweet, packs a good amount of coffee flavor, and delivers a ton of caramel deliciousness all for just 10 calories.
And, as far as ingredients go, just a few simple ones are all you'll need to make this skinny macchiato. It features your favorite cold brew, a dash of milk, and a sweet, homemade buttery low calorie caramel sauce that's just so, so addicting. Then, all of that deliciousness gets topped with some fluffy whipped cream - and a bit more caramel sauce for good measure.
Now, with all of that said, my favorite part about this copycat skinny caramel macchiato recipe is how quick and easy it is to make. Honestly, the hardest part about it is taking the ingredients out of the fridge.
How great does that sound?!

Ok, so you only need 5 simple ingredients to make this skinny caramel macchiato, some of which you might have already. But, if you don't have them on hand, they're worth stocking up on - I can almost guarantee you'll want to make this every morning after you get your first taste of it!
Anyway, here's what you'll need to make this skinny caramel macchiato recipe:
- 6 Oz cold brewed coffee
- 2 Tbsp. 0 calorie caramel sauce
- 2 Oz almond milk
- Whipped cream (Optional)
- Ice
Simple, right?
By the way, if you have some extra almond milk - and whipped cream - after making this drink, you can put 'em to good use and make this low calorie hot chocolate with them next.
Ingredient Additions & Substitutions
So, I make this skinny caramel macchiato with cold brew coffee. It has a stronger caffeine kick and is generally more accessible to buy from the grocery store, making this drink even easier to put together.
That said, you can also use 6 ounces of chilled coffee to make it too. It'll taste just as fantastic!
For the sugar free caramel sauce, I like to use the one I linked out above - that's Walden Farms caramel sauce - because it has 0 carbs and 0 calories. However, you can also make my homemade sugar free caramel sauce as well - it's a great option if you're following a low carb diet like keto.
As for the milk, I prefer to use unsweetened vanilla almond milk since it's the lowest in calories. But, with that said, you can really use any kind that you like - skim milk, coconut milk, cashew milk, oat milk, or soy milk all work great. Just keep in mind, if you go with a milk alternative, you'll want to choose one that's unsweetened. The sweetened kinds usually are loaded with unnecessary amounts of sugar, carbs, and calories.
How to Make a Skinny Caramel Macchiato
Now, making your own caramel macchiato at home may seem intimidating, but it's actually incredibly simple!
As I've mentioned, by following just a few easy steps you'll be able to make yourself a skinny caramel macchiato that tastes like a barista from Starbucks made it!
Anyway, without further ado, let's dive into how to make a low calorie caramel macchiato.
Step 1: Prepare the Cold Brew Coffee
First things first, if you're making your own cold brew coffee for this skinny caramel macchiato, you'll want to start with that.
To do that, steep ¼ cup of coarsely ground coffee beans in 1 cup of water overnight or for at least 8 hours in the refrigerator. Then, strain out the cold brew with a cheesecloth or cold brew coffee filter.
Now, after you've made the cold brew, you can store it in an airtight container - or sealed glass jar - in the fridge for 7-10 days.
With all of that said, if you're using store-bought cold brew coffee, you can skip this step entirely and move right on to step 2.
Step 2: Decorate the Glass
Now that you have your cold brew coffee ready, you can decorate the glass.
So, to do that, you'll want to drizzle the sugar free caramel sauce along the rim, bottom, and sides of the glass. Doing this will not only give the glass an aesthetically pleasing look, but it will ensure that all of the caramel flavors are in every sip of the drink.
Also, for what it's worth, I like to use a tall, skinny glass for my caramel macchiato. I think it just works the best for it.
Step 3: Assemble the Caramel Macchiato
Ok, now that the glass is prepared, you can add some ice to it along with the milk and coffee.
Then, you'll want to stir everything together, add some whipped cream, and drizzle some caramel on top of that.
Finally, take a sip, and enjoy!
