The Best Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry Recipe
Quick and easy stir fry dinners are a lifesaver for busy weeknights, and this beef and broccoli recipe is definitely one of my favorite stir fry recipes to make.
It's incredibly flavorful and satisfying. It's made of tender beef and broccoli coated in an ultra flavorful stir fry sauce that's perfect for spooning over rice and each bite of it is just as addicting as the last.
And what I love about is that this beef and broccoli stir fry recipe is made with mostly pantry staples and it's ready to eat in just 20 minutes. That's about the same amount of time it takes to order and receive your Chinese takeout!
Oh, and it only has a fraction of the calories, too! So there's no reason to ever order out again - especially once you get a taste of this broccoli stir fry beef.
By the way, I highly recommend pairing this stir fry beef and broccoli with some low carb cauliflower rice for a tasty side. You can also use the extra servings to make this keto sushi!
Honestly, you could even eat this beef and broccoli in one of my low carb tortillas.

Ingredients
As I mentioned earlier, you only need a handful of ingredients for this stir fry recipe and most of them are staples you probably have in your pantry already.
With that said, here’s everything you'll need to make this beef and broccoli stir fry:
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1.5 lbs sirloin steak
- ½ cup of soy sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon cold water
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 cups of fresh broccoli
So, I'm using sirloin steak for this recipe because it has a little more fat content and it results in a richer, meatier-tasting beef and broccoli stir fry. But, if you prefer a leaner cut, tenderloin steak would taste delicious here as well.
Also, if you're using beef broth that already has salt in it, you can use low sodium soy sauce instead to balance out the saltiness.
And don't worry about stocking up on any of the ingredients here, you can use most of these in my other speedy stir fry recipes, like this keto chicken stir fry and shrimp stir fry!

How To Make Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
Again, this beef and broccoli stir fry doesn't take much time to make at all. As I mentioned before, it's ready in 20 minutes and it's all made in one pan so clean-up is a breeze too.
Anyway, let's get into the details of this beef and broccoli recipe!

Step 1: Cook The Meat
First, grab a medium-sized pan and spritz some non-stick spray on the surface.
Then, turn your stove on low heat, add in 3 minced cloves of garlic and let it cook until fragrant.
While waiting for the garlic to brown, thinly slice your sirloin steak.
Next, add the meat to the pan and bring it up to medium heat. And you'll want to spread the beef evenly on the pan so everything cooks at the same time.

Step 2: Create The Sauce
As your stir fry beef is cooking, you can get started on the stir fry sauce.
In a measuring cup, add the soy sauce, beef broth, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Lightly whisk the stir fry sauce ingredients to combine.
Next, pour your sauce into the pan and cover the meat, then bring the heat up to medium-high.
In the meantime, it's time to make a mixture to thicken up the sauce. Grab a small bowl, fill it with the cold water, and mix your cornstarch in. Make sure that the cornstarch is fully dissolved without leaving behind any lumpy parts.
Once your savory sauce is at a rolling boil, pour the cornstarch mixture into the pan and stir everything together. Let it cook until the sauce thickens nicely.

Step 3: Add The Broccoli
When the savory sauce is nice and thick, it’s time to add the fresh broccoli florets.
Add the broccoli florets into the pan and give them a quick stir to coat them slightly with sauce.
Then, put a lid on the pan, and let the broccoli steam on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
And there you have it!
Serve your beef and broccoli stir fry warm with some cooked white rice or cauliflower rice on the side. You can also garnish it with some sesame seeds for some added crunch. Enjoy!

How To Store Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
So this beef and broccoli stir fry will make about 4 absolutely delicious servings. And storing this beef and broccoli stir fry is pretty easy so it's perfect for leftovers or meal prep.
You can keep your beef and broccoli stir fry in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Oh, and if you like your broccoli to taste freshly cooked every time, don’t add the broccoli to the stir fry until you’re about to reheat and serve it. Cooked broccoli tends to lose its firm texture really fast once they’re put into anything liquid.

How To Reheat Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
Now, this beef and broccoli stir fry actually tastes good cold, but you can totally reheat it if you want!
To reheat, I've found the best way is to put the leftovers in a pan over medium heat with a splash of water, then heat for about 3-5 minutes or until the beef and broccoli reaches your desired temperature.

Wrapping It All Up
So, that's how to make beef and broccoli stir fry from scratch.
I love making this beef and broccoli for a speedy and satisfying dinner for the family. Plus, it makes an incredible meal prep option too.
Anyway, I hope you like this easy stir fry recipe as much as I do.
