    The Best Shrimp Stir Fry

This stir fry shrimp recipe is a quick, easy, and healthy meal that is sure to become a dinner staple at your house.

Honestly, I think there's a good chance this recipe is one of the best shrimp stir fry recipes ever created - and I know that's saying a lot! But there really are just so many incredibly tasty components to this recipe and it's on the table in no time - it's tough to beat.

Plus, it's super customizable, and you can add in - or take out - any veggies you want to make this shrimp stir fry recipe your own!

Also, as I alluded to earlier, the beauty of this shrimp stir fry is that you can whip it up quickly and effortlessly since everything for it comes together in just one pot.

Not to mention, this is a really healthy dinner recipe to make the fam. It's got a good amount of protein and it's packed with veggies and fiber too. And even kids love this meal - I know my nieces do anyway - so it's a win for everyone!

I'll wipe all that has shrimp with sesame seeds on top and some broccoli in it.

    Ingredients

Here's everything you'll need to make the stir-fry sauce:

    • Low sodium soy sauce- you can also use tamari sauce.
    • Toasted sesame oil
    • Chili sauce- sambal oelek is what I use.
    • Brown sugar- for a hint of sweetness.
    • Garlic cloves- minced for more flavor.
    • Cornstarch- to thicken the sauce.
    • Water

    And to complete the dish:

    • Vegetable oil- for frying.
    • Red bell pepper- thinly sliced. Yellow or green bell pepper works too.
    • Broccoli- preferably florets.
    • Snow peas
    • Shrimp- peeled and deveined. You can use thawed frozen shrimp.
    • Cooked rice -or cauliflower rice for serving.
    • Sesame seeds- optional garnish.

So, as I mentioned earlier, you can add in or take out anything you want to make this easy stir fry recipe your own. You can add in things like mini corn, cauliflower, edamame, asparagus, mushrooms, water chestnuts, bean sprouts, or any vegetable really. Get creative and change it up every time you make it to keep things fresh! By the way, you can use a few of these ingredients to make my Szechuan chicken, so give that try next!

Football snow peas, bowl soy sauce, bowl brown sugar, boil broccoli, bowl shrimp, a bowl of garlic, a bowl of red bell pepper, and a bowl of soy sauce all on a grey counter.

How To Make Shrimp Stir Fry

Stirfry sauce in a white cop with a spoon in it. Behind it is a white plate with sliced red bell peppers on it and both things are on a white counter.

    Step 1: Prep Work

First, prepare the stir fry sauce so it'll be ready for later. To do that, add the soy sauce, sesame oil, chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic, cornstarch, and water to a small bowl. Then, whisk everything together until well combined, and set it aside.

Broccoli, snow peas, and sliced red pepper in a black skillet.

Step 2: Cooking The Veggies & Shrimp

Now, take out the wok or large pan, put it over medium-high heat, and add some olive oil to it. Heat the oil until it glistens, then add the sliced bell peppers, broccoli, and snow peas. Cook everything for about 3-4 minutes, constantly stirring. Then, add the shrimp to the wok and saute for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turn pink.

    Step 3: Completing The Dish

Next, add the mixed sauce to the wok and cook at a simmer for 5 minutes, occasionally stirring to coat everything in the sauce. You'll want to do this until the sauce thickens and the shrimp and veggies are fully coated in the stir fry sauce. Lastly, serve over cooked rice - or cauliflower rice - and add a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top.  Enjoy!

How To Store and Reheat Leftovers

This recipe is really delicious leftover, so you might want to double or triple the recipe. It will give you an easy meal prep that's actually as good the next day - or maybe even better - as right after you make it.  You can store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-4 days. To store longer, keep in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months.

Then to reheat the stir fry, there are a few ways to do it, but my favorite is putting everything back in the wok or pan on the stovetop. You'll need to add a dash of oil - or water - to the pan along with the leftovers and warm it up over medium heat for a few minutes until it reaches your desired temperature. Also, make sure to stir it frequently to warm everything evenly.
