How To Cook Sausages In The Oven
Now that you're all caught up on the ingredients - or should I say ingredient - it's time to get cooking.
Honestly, cooking Italian sausages has never been easier than with this recipe. You literally just have to put the sausage in the oven and let it take care of the rest.
With that said, let's not waste any more time and get to it!
Step 1: Prep Work
First, you'll want to preheat your oven to 400°F (200ºC). Then, you can line a baking sheet with some parchment paper - or aluminum foil - and set it aside.
While the oven is preheating, you can arrange your sausages on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure that you space them out evenly on the sheet so none of them are touching.
Step 2: Bake The Sausage
As soon as the oven is preheated, you can slide the sheet pan with the sausages into the oven and bake them for 30 minutes. Halfway through the baking time, you'll want to turn all the sausages over so they cook evenly.
By the way, if you're starting with frozen sausages, just add 5-10 minutes to the cooking time. You can use a meat thermometer to check the doneness of your sausages. They should have an internal temperature of at least 160°F.
Anyway, once your sausages are done cooking, you can transfer them to a plate and serve 'em with anything you want.
Enjoy!
How To Store and Reheat Cooked Sausage
This recipe for how to cook sausages in the oven will really make as many sausages as you want - or at least as many as your baking sheet will hold! Also, don't be afraid to make more than you need cause the sausage is great to have for the next few days.
By the way, if you end up with extras, you can store the cooked sausages in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or you can freeze them in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag for up to 6 months.
When it comes to reheating your oven-cooked sausage, I definitely recommend warming them up in the oven.
So, to reheat your leftover sausage, just transfer it to a baking tray, cover it with tin foil, and bake in the oven at 350°F (180ºC) for 10-15 minutes or until it's heated through.
