These keto cheddar bay biscuits are flakey, soft, so flavorful, and perfectly cheesy! Plus, they taste just like the ones you'd get from Red Lobster. And, the best thing about these keto biscuits is that each one has just 2 NET CARBS!
THE BEST KETO CHEDDAR BISCUITS
If you've ever eaten at Reb Lobster, then you know how delicious their cheddar bay biscuits are. But unfortunately, they are super high in carbs and can't be eaten on keto.
Well, if you miss those tasty biscuits or have never had them, you're in luck.
These keto cheddar biscuits are the real deal. They have the ideal balance between fluffiness and flakiness, and they have a wonderful buttery flavor with hints of cheddar cheese in each bite.
And these are definitely some of the best keto biscuits I've made - although, this non-cheesy keto biscuit recipe is pretty tasty too!
That said though, what I love the most about these keto cheddar biscuits is how easy they are to make. You only need to follow 2 steps and need a few common keto friendly ingredients to make them.
Plus, the entire recipe takes about 20 minutes to make, and each biscuit has just 2 net carbs!
Ok, so, with all that said, let's dive into the recipe.
INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED
So, as I mentioned, you'll only need a few ingredients to make these keto biscuits.
Here are the ingredients you'll need for the biscuit dough:
- 2 tablespoon cream cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoon salted butter, melted
- 1 ½ cup almond flour
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoons baking powder
And to brush on top:
- 2 teaspoon salted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
As I said, pretty basic stuff!
By the way, if you've got some leftover shredded cheddar cheese you can use it to make these delicious keto quesadillas next!
KETO FLOURS TO USE (AND AVOID)
So, one of the main components to make these biscuits is almond flour. But if you are allergic to almond flour - or just don't want to use it - you can easily substitute it with either walnut flour or sunflower seed flour.
Both can be used as an equal replacement for almond flour for this recipe, and it will turn out just as delicious.
With that said, a flour you DO NOT want to use in place of almond flour is coconut flour. Your biscuits will have a dry and crumbly consistency since coconut flour is an absorbent flour.
CHEESE TIPS
Another main component of these keto biscuits is shredded cheddar cheese. I like to shred the cheese myself because it keeps it as low carb as possible.
Pre-shredded cheese usually comes with added starches that keep it from sticking together. And although this is a good thing, it adds unwanted carbs, and we don't like extra carbs.
With that said, any shredded cheese will work to make these biscuits. So, if you want to play around with the flavor profile of them, you totally can!
HOW TO MAKE KETO CHEDDAR BAY BISCUITS
Now it's time to get down to the good stuff - making these delicious cheesy keto biscuits.
And, as I mentioned earlier, these biscuits are so easy to make.
It seriously might be one of the simplest keto recipes there is. So, if you're ready to have these biscuits on your plate in about 20 minutes, let's get to it!
STEP 1: MAKING THE BISCUIT DOUGH
First things first, you'll want to preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
Then in a large bowl, mix the cream cheese, egg, and melted butter until combined and smooth.
Next, mix the almond flour, grated cheddar cheese, and baking powder in a separate bowl until combined.
After that, you will add the egg mixture to your almond flour-cheese mixture. Then stir these two mixtures together until they are combined and all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
STEP 2: BAKING THE CHEDDAR BISCUITS
By now, your oven should be pre-heated and ready to go.
So take out a baking tray and line it with parchment paper. Then form 8 biscuits out of the dough and place them evenly on the tray.
Bake your biscuits for about 10 minutes until they turn golden brown.
While your biscuits are baking, put your melted butter, chopped parsley, and garlic powder in a small bowl and mix together.
Once your biscuits are baked to perfection, take them out of the oven, immediately brush the garlic butter on the top, and serve warm.
STORING YOUR KETO CHEDDAR BISCUITS
If you made these biscuits for a family dinner, it's hard to believe you'll have any leftovers.
But, if you do have a few leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container and keep them at room temperature for up to 3 days. And you can also store them in the refrigerator for up to a week.
To freeze your biscuits, you can individually wrap each one in plastic wrap and then place them in either a freezer-safe bag or airtight container. They will last in the freezer for up to 1 month.
You can reheat your biscuits either in the microwave in 20 second-increments or in a 350°F (177°C) oven for about 5 minutes.

By far the best keto biscuits I've ever made! I used to love the biscuits at Red Lobster and these are spot on! Thank you:)

I've tried so many LC Cheddar Bay Biscuit recipes over the last 9 years, and this is the first one that had me wanting to eat the entire batch! These were absolutely amazing! These are packed with so much flavor. My non-Keto brother tried these out and said he thought they were just like Red Lobster's biscuits. We have a tradition every Christmas morning of making a breakfast casserole, topped with Cheddar Bay biscuit mix. Looks like I'll be able to have a LC version this year!

You Forgot the garlic powder amount in the biscuit batter
The Diet Chef says
Thanks, it's updated now :)
John says
How much garlic powder in the biscuit mix? Still not updated.
Mary says
Biscuits are really good. I added a 1/4 tsp garlic powder to biscuit dough although it is still left out of list of ingredients (only listed in butter, parsley topping). Earlier comment said the same thing where you say it is corrected now but it isn’t. Directions clearly say ..”and garlic powder..” so I took a guess how much & added it batter anyway (also to butter, parsley topping). Next time I’ll put in only 1/2 Tbls parsley; a whole Tbls is too much (I used dried, not fresh). Still very yummy! Thank you!
Tony says
Tastes as good as the real thing.
Darren says
Red lobster has nothing on these
Bri says
Okay I just made these! Super good base for a "cheddar bay biscuit". I chopped half of the shredded cheese into the almond flour with a food processor and hand mixed in the rest. Instead of shaping the biscuits I dolloped them onto a cookie sheet because I like my biscuits less dense. And for the butter topping I did 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 teaspoon of parsley instead of what the recipe called for. Next time I will probably season the dough a bit more and cook the biscuits for only 7 or 8 minutes. These were great though. Thanks so much for doing these for us!
Billy says
Never had the ones from red lobster but these have to be just as good.
John says
