    The Best Keto Jalapeno Poppers

If you've been following me for a while, then you probably know I love recipes filled with flavor. And these keto jalapeno poppers are no exception. They're jam-packed with tasty-tastiness.

These poppers have just the right amount of heat and the perfect blend of creamy and cheesiness. And each spicy bite truly leaves you wanting more.

In fact, they're so darn good that it's impossible to eat just one.

Luckily for us, each one has LESS THAN 1 NET CARB!

So you can eat 2,3 or 5 of these keto poppers and stay in ketosis!

Plus, as I said before, they're insanely easy to make. It only takes about 30 minutes total with prep and cook time to pop out a whole tray of these bad boys!

By the way, if you are craving more cheesy keto appetizers, check out these easy keto mozzarella sticks, this keto pizza dip, or this keto spinach and artichoke dip. All of them are a crowd-pleaser at any party, especially the super bowl!

Anyway, I'm sure you're ready for some cheesy, spicy popper goodness, so let's jump into the recipe!

A baking sheet of uncooked jalapenos that have been stuffed with cream cheese and bacon.

    Keto Jalapeno Popper Ingredients

One of the best things about this keto jalapeno popper recipe is that you only need a few simple keto friendly ingredients to make it.

By merely combining jalapenos with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and crispy bacon crumbles with a few spices; you're able to create a ton of mouthwatering jalapeno popper deliciousness.

Anyway, here's everything you'll need to make the best keto jalapeno poppers.

    • 10 Jalapeno peppers, halved and seeded
    • 6 oz. Cream cheese
    • 1 Cup cheddar cheese, shredded
    • 1 Tsp. garlic powder
    • ⅓ Tsp. salt
    • ¼ Tsp. black pepper
    • 3 Bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
    • 2 Tbsps. chopped chives for garnish

Now I've said this a few times before, but it's worth repeating. You'll want to shred your cheddar cheese yourself instead of buying it pre-shredded. Pre-shredded cheese is almost always mixed with starch to keep it from sticking, adding unwanted carbs to your dish.

For the bacon, make sure to use pre-cooked bacon crumbles instead of raw bacon. Using cooked bacon will ensure the bits have that crispy texture complimenting the cheesiness of the poppers.

How to Make The Best Keto Jalapeno Poppers

Ok, so now that we've talked about the ingredients, let's get into the instructions.

And, as I said before, this keto jalapeno popper recipe is super easy to make. So there's really not a lot of time or effort needed to make this recipe – which makes it even better when they come out tasting fantastic!

    Step 1: Prep work

The first step is to preheat your oven to 400℉ (205℃).

You'll then want to slice your jalapeno peppers into halves and remove the seeds - or keep some if you like an extra kick to your poppers.

Pro-tip: Be sure to wear gloves when you do this! The capsaicin from the jalapenos can get on your skin if you don't wear some form of protection. It's pretty hard to get off – you'll be feeling the burn for hours.

Now, after you prepare the jalapenos, put them aside for now, and make the filing.

    Step 2: Mixing and combining

So, at this point, we'll want to add the cream cheese to a large bowl and soften it up in the microwave for about a minute.

Then, while the cream cheese is softening up, you can shred the cheddar cheese until you have a cup.

Next, combine the cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the large bowl. Then mix all the ingredients until everything is well combined.

Then, use a spoon to scoop the mixture into the jalapeno halves and arrange them evenly on your baking tray.

Lastly, sprinkle the bacon crumbles on top and press them gently into the cheese mixture to keep them from falling out when they cook.

    Step 3: Baking

Ok, now that you've assembled the poppers, it's time to bake them!

So, you'll want to line a baking sheet with foil and coat it with baking spray. Then, just add the jalapeno poppers to the sheet, and bake for around 20 minutes.

You'll know the keto jalapeno poppers are done once the cheese is turning golden brown. Then, when they're looking good, you'll want to remove them from the oven and give them a few minutes to cool.

After they cool, finish them off with a sprinkle of chopped chives.

    And that's it!

Just 10 minutes of prep time and 20 minutes of cooking time to make these delicious keto jalapeno poppers.

    How great is that?!

Keto Jalapeno Poppers in the Air Fryer

If you want can't wait to bite into these spicy, cheesy, and oh so creamy poppers, you can make them faster in the air fryer.

The air fryer will take around 10-15 minutes for the cheese to reach that perfect golden crispiness.

To make them this way, follow the same process to prepare the poppers. Then, once they are ready, arrange them in one even layer in the air fryer basket.

And make sure the jalapeno poppers are not overlapping to ensure that they cook evenly.

Set the air fryer to 375℉ (190 ℃) and cook your jalapeno poppers for about 10-15 minutes.

You'll want to check up on them around 10 minutes, then every few minutes to make sure they don't overcook. Having said that, once the cheese is turning golden, you can pull them out of the air fryer and let them cool.

Again, top them off with some chopped chives and enjoy these tasty keto jalapeno poppers.

How to Store and Reheat Keto Jalapeno Poppers

If you somehow end up with leftovers - though that's honestly pretty hard to imagine - you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

And the best way to reheat the jalapeno poppers is in the oven or air fryer. Just follow the same temperature you used when baking or air frying them, and cook for about 3-5 minutes - or until hot.

That said, you can always heat them up in the microwave too. And if you go that route, it should only take around 30 seconds to get them hot.

    Nutritional Information

As I've already mentioned, each one of these keto jalapeno poppers has just 1 NET CARB!

But the full nutritional breakdown for each popper is as follows:

    • 65 Calories
    • 5.5g Fat
    • .75g Carbs
    • .25g Fiber
    • .5g NET CARBS
    • 2.75g Protein

    Pretty incredible, right?!

The macro breakdown is absolutely perfect for the keto diet. The recipe has twice as much fat as it does protein, and there are hardly any carbs.

It doesn't get much better than that!

Anyway, if you try these poppers, let me know what you thought of them in the comments.

I'd love to see what you think about them.
