These 30 choices all have 5g of carbs or less, with a wide variety of options - from ales, to pilsners, to lagers, to IPA's and more. And I also included an additional section of low carb beers that are gluten free, and others that are low calorie as well. So, no matter what your dietary restrictions are, there's a beer here for you!

A compilation of the best low carb beers. There are 6 different beer bottles and cans shown.

    Table of Contents

    THE BEST LOW CARB BEER

When it comes to maintaining a keto diet, beer is definitely one of the more difficult drinks to fit in.

But not to worry, I was able to find 30 of the best low carb beers you can buy right now in 2022, and all of them have less than 5g of carbs per drink!

And just because these beers are low carb & keto diet friendly, it doesn't mean these beers are low on taste or quality. In fact, I think these are some of the most delicious alcoholic options out there. Especially if you're trying to stay healthy while enjoying a drink - or two.

Oh, and if you want to know which low carb options on the list are specifically low calorie beers or gluten free beers, I categorized them at the end of the list. By the way, if you're looking for just low calorie beer, you'll want to check this low calorie beer list out.

Now, nothing goes with beer quite like some nuts, so check out this list of the best Keto Nuts to pair with your low carb beer.

So, with all of that being said, let's jump into the list!

THE ULTIMATE LOW CARB BEER LIST

    1. Budweiser Select 55

A bottle of Budweiser Select 55 beer.
    • Carbs: 1.9g
    • ABV: 2.4%
    • Calories: 55

Budweiser Select 55 has the lowest carb count I've seen in any beer and it's pretty low calorie too. I love drinking this beer with some low calorie chips or pairing it with some low carb pizza.

At less than 2g carbs per bottle, this light version of the classic American-style lager is perfect for when you want to throw back a few beers without having to worry about your total carb count.

So, if you're following the keto diet, the Budweiser Select 55 is a beer you'll definitely want to consider getting the next time you're at a bar - or the store.

    2. Corona Premier A can of corona premier.

    • Carbs: 2g
    • ABV: 4%
    • Calories: 90

If you're looking to find your beach while keeping it low carb, the Corona Premier is for you - add a squeeze of lime and a little salt, and you're all set with a light, easy-drinking beer that's excellent for a day at the beach.

Oh, and did I mention it's also one of the lowest carb beers you can have? Each bottle has just 2g carbs per serving, so it's totally keto friendly as well!

By the way, Corona Light is also a decent option to choose - but it's not as low carb as the "Premier". Every bottle/can of Corona Light has 4.7g of carbs per serving, which is over double the amount in their Premier beer.

So, if you're being super strict with your carb count - like if you're doing the keto diet - the Premier label is the one you'll want to look for. And if you're not being as strict, Corona Light is more than an acceptable option.

Also, for what it's worth, this beer - Corona Premier - goes great with these air fryer sweet potato fries.

    3. Miller 64

    • Carbs: 2g
    • ABV: 2.8%
    • Calories: 64

For the true light beer fans out there, Miller 64 will hit all the right spots without adding much to your daily carb intake.

It's crisp and smooth with a slightly malty flavor and has a low alcohol by volume that's great for enjoying a few at a time. And just like the last beer we talked about, Miller 64 has just 2g carbs per can!

So, if you're searching for one of the best easy to drink low carb beers to buy, Miller 64 is one to consider.

    4. Surly Brewing Rosé Lager A can of surly brewing Co. Rose lager.

    • Carbs: 2.25g
    • ABV: 5.2%
    • Calories: 127

Now, if you like fruity-flavored beer, check out this rosé-inspired low carb craft beer.

It has excellent flavors with strawberries and currants in the mix and comes out to just 2.25g carbs per bottle. And it has an alcohol by volume of 5.2%, which is one of the highest on this list!

    5. Michelob Ultra Pure Gold

    A bottle of Michelob Ultra.
    • Carbs: 2.5g
    • ABV: 3.8%
    • Calories: 85

One of the main things that set this low carb beer apart from the rest is that it's USDA certified organic and doesn't have any artificial colors or flavors added.

And if that hasn't sold you already, it also tastes really darn good - it's light, clean, and refreshing with a touch of sweetness for just 2.5g carbs per bottle - so, it's perfect if you're following a low carb diet!

By the way, this beer pairs perfectly with this low carb 5 minute tortilla pizza recipe. I highly recommend giving them a try together the next time you're in the mood for a beer.

    6. Michelob Ultra A can of Michelob Ultra.

    • Carbs: 2.6g
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 95

If you can't find the Michelob Ultra Pure Gold where you are, the Michelob Ultra is the next best thing.

It's still well below 3g carbs per serving and has just 95 calories. Like the Pure Gold, it has a refreshing and light flavor with a little bit of sweetness.

Also, it has a slightly higher alcohol by volume at 4.2%, so this could be the better choice between the two if you're looking for more of a buzz.

By the way, it goes great with these grilled chicken thighs.

    7. Yuengling Flight

A 6 pack of Yuengling Flight low carb beer bottles.
    • Carbs: 2.6g
    • ABV: 3.8%
    • Calories: 85

If other light beers just haven't been doing it for you, Yuengling Flight might be what you've been looking for - it's a little fuller-bodied than the other options and has all the flavor you can expect from a quality beer.

Plus, each serving comes out to just 2.6g carbs, but you'd never be able to tell from how good it is!

So, if you're following a low carb diet, definitely give this beer a look.

    8. Pittsburgh Brewing Co. I.C. Light

    A bottle of IC Light.
    • Carbs: 2.8g
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 95

Now, this beer typically can't be found at the store unless you live in Pennsylvania, but you can order it online!

If you live in Pittsburgh, this is a great option, brewed right in the heart of the city.

And, if you don't live in Pittsburgh, it might be worth taking a trip to the "steel city" just to try this light beer. With it coming in at less than 3 carbs per bottle, the I.C. light is a top 10 low carb beer you can get!

    9. Skinny Brands Lager

A bottle of Skinny Brands premium lager.
    • Carbs: 3g
    • ABV: 4%
    • Calories: 89

The SkinnyBrands lager has become a super popular beer lately, and for a good reason.

It's gluten-free, vegan certified, and kosher certified with just 3g net carbs per bottle!

    10. Shiner Ruby Redbird A can of Shiner Ruby redbird.

    • Carbs: 3.1g
    • ABV: 4.01%
    • Calories: 95

If you like flavored beers, you'll want to add a pack of this seasonal craft beer to your cart.

Shiner Ruby Redbird is made with a zesty Texas grapefruit from Rio Grande Valley with ginger for a spicy kick!

    How tasty does that sound?!

    11. Miller Lite
    A can of Miller lite.

    • Carbs: 3.2g
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 96

Miller Lite is one of the most classic and well-known light beers. And you'd never know it is low in carbs and calories!

It's an easy to drink beer that you can find pretty much anywhere you go and for a great price too.

    12. Natural Light

A can of Natural Light low carb beer.
    • Carbs: 3.2
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 95

Natty Light - or Natural light - is probably the most affordable beer on the list. It comes out to around $15 for a 30 pack in most places, making it a great choice for big parties. I mean, this is the official beer of college life, isn't it?

Anyway, while it may not be the most flavorful beer on this list, it's a classic option with the same carbs as Miller Lite. And that makes it another great low carb beer option on the list.

    13. Southbound Brewing Light Lager Beer A can of Southbound Light Lager.

    • Carbs: 3.5g
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 100

Another easy to drink beer is this lager from Southbound. It's a light, refreshing low carb and low calorie beer that is great for any event.

It is very similar to the two above in carbs and calories, so you can't go wrong with whichever one you pick!

    14. Beck's Premier Light A six pack of Becks premier light.

    • Carbs: 3.9g
    • ABV: 2.3%
    • Calories: 64

Like Miller 64, Beck's Premier Light has just 64 calories per bottle, so it's a great choice if you're trying to cut back on calories too.

Although it is almost double the carbs, so if you're planning on enjoying a few, the Miller 64 is a better option.

    15. Deschutes Da Shootz! Pilsner

    A can of Da Shootz!
    • Carbs: 4.2g
    • ABV: 4%
    • Calories: 99

If you're new to the craft beer scene, this light pilsner is a great start.

It has all the flavors of a classic light beer with a refreshing hint of lemon that keeps you coming back for more. And at just 4.2g carbs per serving, so there's no reason not to give Da Shootz a shot.

    16. Busch Light A can of Busch Light.

    • Carbs: 4.2g
    • ABV: 5.9%
    • Calories: 173

As far as lagers go, Busch Light has the highest alcohol by volume by far.

So if you just want one drink with a little more alcohol, this is the way to go.

    17. Coors Light

A six pack of Coors Light beer bottles.
    • Carbs: 5g
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 102

Coors Light is another one of the OGs of light beers. It's pure nostalgia in a can (or bottle), and each one comes out to just 5g carbs.

But since it is so similar to Miller Lite, you're better off going with that if you want to enjoy a few and keep it as low carb as possible.

    18. Amstel Light A bottle of Amstel Light.

    • Carbs: 5g
    • ABV: 3.5%
    • Calories: 95

If you like your beer to have a full earthy flavor, Amstel Light is a solid choice. It has a stronger hoppiness than most light beers and a bit of a honey flavor at the finish.

But it does have a little added sugar, bringing the carb count up a bit.

    19. Devil's Backbone Bright Tangerine A can of Devil's Backbone Bright Tangerine.

    • Carbs: 2g
    • ABV: 4.8%
    • Calories: 90

This citrusy sparkling ale has the lowest carb count of any ales on this list – and it doesn't sacrifice any flavor to get there either.

Each bottle comes out to just 2g carbs, so you can enjoy a couple of glasses without having to whip out the carb calculator. And there is no gluten in it, leaving you feeling less full.

    20. Lagunitas DayTime A can of Lagunitas Day Time IPA.

    • Carbs: 3g
    • ABV: 4%
    • Calories: 98

This IPA is the perfect low carb beer for summer.

It is light and refreshing, and if you're a fan of Bud Light, this has a similar flavor but with a much lower carb count at just 3g per can.

    21. Dogfish Head Slightly Mighty

A can of Slightly Mighty low carb beer.
    • Carbs: 3.6g
    • ABV: 4%
    • Calories: 95

If you like your beers on the sweeter side but don't want any added sugars, Slightly Mighty from Dogfish Head is a great choice.

It's sweetened with zero-carb monk fruit sweetener to balance out the classic tart and piney flavors while keeping it low carb at just 3.6g carbs per can - making it another keto friendly beer option!

    22. Blue Moon LightSky A can of Blue Moon Light Sky.

    • Carbs: 3.6g
    • ABV: 4%
    • Calories: 95

The LightSky from Blue Moon has its classic wheat flavor but with a citrus twist.

And, as far as price goes, it's usually on the more affordable side of craft beers.

Plus, it's an excellent option if you're following the keto diet since it has just 3.6g carbs.

    23. Omme Gang Brut IPA A bottle of Omme Gang Brut IPA.

    • Carbs: 3.9g
    • ABV: 6.3%
    • Calories: 140

If strong IPAs are your thing, this is the one to look out for - with an ABV of 6.3%, Omme Gang Brut packs a lot of punch, but doesn't pack on the carbs.

It has the bright and hoppy flavors you'd want in a quality IPA, but with under 4g carbs. Omme Gang can be pretty tough to find though, so if you see it grab it!

    24. Kona Brewing Blonde Ale

A bottle of Kanaha blonde ale with a glass filled with the blonde ale next to it.
    • Carbs: 4g
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 99

What sets this ale apart is that it's made with real mangos and is still low carb!

So if tropical flavors are your jam, then the Kanaha blonde ale will become your new favorite low carb drink.

Also, it has less than 100 calories per bottle, which makes it not only a low carb alcoholic beverage but a low calorie one too!

    25. Boulevard Easy Sport

A can of easy sport low carb beer.
    • Carbs: 4.5
    • ABV: 4%
    • Calories: 99

Boulevard Brewing has picked up quite the following for their easy drinking, high-quality beers, and Easy Sport is no different.

This low carb, low calorie ale is refreshing and bright, perfect for a hot day or a relaxing drink after doing some yard work.

    26. Allagash Saison A bottle of Allagash Saison.

    • Carbs: 4.8g
    • ABV: 6.1%
    • Calories: 183

Inspired by Belgian farmhouse-style ales, the Saison Allagash is rich with flavor yet low on carbs.

Like any Saison beer, this pale ale is fruity and spicy with slightly sweet caramel notes.

And one drink comes out to just 4.8g carbs, much lower than what you'd think by its flavor.

    27. Four Peaks Brut

A bottle of Four Peaks Brut IPA.
    • Carbs: 5g
    • ABV: 6.7%
    • Calories: 152

If you want a quick buzz without having too many drinks, you'll want to check out this indulgent option from Four Peaks with a 6.7% ABV. By the way, if you're wondering, that's one of the highest alcohol by volumes for any beer on the list.

Flavor-wise, it has an almost champagne-like taste with hints of melon, berries, and wine - pretty unique for a beer.

Carb-wise though, it is one of the highest on the list coming in at 5g carbs. So, if you're following the keto diet you might want to pass on this one.

    28. Sufferfest Repeat A can of Sufferfest Beer Company Repeat

    • Carbs: 5g
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 95

Kölsch-style beers have been a favorite among craft beer fans lately, and Sufferfest Repeat is a great pick if you want to hop on the trend.

It's herbaceous and floral with a nice crispness and a little bit of sweetness to round everything out.

Oh, and not only is it low carb and low calorie, but it's also gluten free!

Also, for what it's worth, my wife has been obsessed with kölsch beers this summer, and this one by Sufferest is one of her favorites.

    29. Omission Ultimate Light Golden Ale A can of Omission Ultimate Light Golden Ale.

    • Carbs: 5g
    • ABV: 4.2%
    • Calories: 99

Speaking of glutenvfree beers, another awesome option is the Ultimate Light Golden Ale from Omission.

It's refreshing and fruity with just the right amount of fizz and a light body. And it has a good amount of sweetness to balance everything out - not bad for a low carb, low calorie, and gluten free beer!

    30. Brew Dog Vagabond A bottle of Brew Dog Vagabond.

    • Carbs: 5g
    • ABV: 4.5%
    • Calories: 150

Rounding out our list of low carb beer is this hoppy and citrusy pale ale from BrewDog. If you're into uncompromising, powerfully bitter beer, Vagabond is the one to beat.

This is also one of the higher carb beers on the list with 5g carbs, but it is gluten-free!

    BEST GLUTEN-FREE BEER

Now, a quick note on gluten-free beer before we dive into all the low carb, gluten-free options from the list above.

Since beer is made from ingredients like wheat and barley, gluten-free beer actually just removes the gluten during the brewing process with enzymes that digest gluten particles into smaller fragments.

So if you're extremely sensitive to gluten or have a gluten allergy, consult with your healthcare provider before trying these out because they can possibly cause an immune response.

Here all the low carb, gluten-free beers that are on the list:

    • Devil's Backbone Bright Tangerine
    • SkinnyBrands Lager
    • Sufferfest Repeat
    • Omission Ultimate Light Golden Ale
    • BrewDog Vagabond

    BEST LOW-CALORIE BEERS

Along with being super low carb, all these options have under 90 calories!

Check out all the low carb, low calorie beers you can get:

    • Budweiser Select 55 - 55 calories
    • Miller 64 - 64 calories
    • Beck's Premier Light - 64 calories
    • Michelob Ultra Pure Gold - 85 calories
    • SkinnyBrands Lager - 89 calories

    WRAPPING IT ALL UP

And there you have it - all of the best options for low carb beer that you can buy!

If you're watching your carbs or calories, give one of these a try, and you'll be able to stick to your lifestyle while enjoying an ice-cold, refreshing alcoholic beverage.

By the way, you want to make some pizza or wings to eat with one of these brewskis I've got a couple of really great recipes for you - specifically this keto pizza recipe or these air fryer chicken wings.

This is so helpful! Thanks for all of the research. Ultra is a staple in my summer beer fridge, but it will be nice to mix it up a bit.

Tougher to find is Leinenkugel’s Spritzen. Love them! I’m not a Truly or White Claw person, but this is enough beer flavor to balance to fruit. Also pretty low carb.
