    The Best Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip

    If you love Buffalo chicken dip but are looking for something a little lighter - and just as satisfying - you've come to the right place!

    This crowd-favorite healthy Buffalo chicken dip is so tasty, tasty but it has well under 150 calories per serving. That means it has less than half the calories compared to your average wing dip recipe!

    Now, even though this is a healthier Buffalo chicken dip recipe, there's no compromise in flavor. Seriously, it has everything you love about normal Buffalo chicken wing dip. It's creamy, cheesy, and meaty, and it has the perfect amount of spice.

    Gah, it's just so, so good!

    Plus, as I already mentioned it's so easy to make. Just 5 minutes is all it takes to prep. Not to mention, just 5 ingredients are all you need to make it!

    By the way, if you're looking for some other sides to pair with this dip, you can't go wrong with this pizza dip, this black bean dip, or this spinach and artichoke dip.

    Ingredients

    As I mentioned, you'll only need a handful of ingredients to make this low calorie Buffalo wing dip. You might even have a few of them at home already!

    Anyway, here are all of the ingredients you'll need to make it:

    • 14oz. Fat-free cream cheese, softened (⅓ fat works too)
    • 1 cup fat-free Ranch dressing (low fat works too)
    • 2 cups fat-free cheddar cheese (low fat works too)
    • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken breast (rotisserie chicken works great for this)
    • ½ cup hot sauce (Frank's is the best)

    Pretty simple stuff, right?!

    Now, if you're wondering what makes this Buffalo chicken dip healthy, it's as simple as swapping the high fat ingredients - like cream cheese and cheddar - with lower fat alternatives. That way, you get a lower calorie dip with the same rich flavors and creamy texture.

    By the way, if you don't have any leftover cooked chicken to shred for this dip, you can also use rotisserie chicken or canned chicken. Or, you can make my super quick and simple Instant Pot shredded chicken with fresh or frozen chicken breasts.

    How to Make Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip

    Making this healthy Buffalo chicken dip recipe couldn't be any easier. Literally, all you have to do is mix the ingredients together, top 'em with cheese, and bake 'em to bubbly, melty perfection.

    All told, it will only take 35 minutes to make this Buffalo chicken dip from scratch, and most of that time is just waiting for the dip to bake in the oven.

    With that said, let's not waste another second and get cooking.

    Step 1: Combine the Ingredients

    First things first, you'll want to preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Then, you can take out a large mixing bowl and add the fat-free cream cheese, fat-free ranch dressing, half of the fat-free shredded cheddar cheese, the cooked shredded chicken, and hot sauce to it.

    Now, after you've added those in there, you can give all of the ingredients a good mix until the cream cheese is completely softened and everything combines into a smooth dip.

    Step 2: Bake the Dip

    Once your healthy Buffalo chicken dip is mixed up well, you can transfer it into a baking dish and top it with the rest of the shredded cheese.

    Then, you can bake the dip for 25 minutes or until the cheddar cheese is completely melted and bubbly on top. Serve it immediately with your choice of dippers and enjoy!

    For what it's worth, I think this healthier Buffalo chicken dip goes great with carrots, celery, and anything from my low calorie chip list.

    How to Store Buffalo Chicken Dip

    This recipe for healthy Buffalo chicken dip makes enough for about 8 servings, so it'll make enough if you're having a small get-together.

    Honestly, whenever I serve this, it's gone in minutes, and there's never any left. But with that said, if you do happen to end up with some leftovers, you can store 'em in an airtight container and keep 'em in the fridge for 3-4 days.

    Then, whenever you want to enjoy this healthy Buffalo chicken wing dip, you can reheat it in the microwave in 30-second increments or you can just transfer it to a baking dish and warm it up in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for around 10 minutes.
