The Best Starbucks Keto Pink Drink
The pink drink at Starbucks used to be a secret menu item that went so viral that Starbucks eventually added it to its official menu. And although the ultra-popular drink is delicious from Starbucks, it's also loaded with carbs and sugar. Which is obviously not the most ideal thing if you're following a low carb diet like keto.
Well, luckily, now with this recipe you can create a homemade pink drink that is completely sugar free - yet just as delicious as the one from Starbucks - and only has 2 NET CARBS!
Now, I'm assuming if you're here and reading this, then you already know what the pink drink tastes like. But, if you don't, it tastes like a cross between a creamy frappe and a light, fruit-flavored tea. It's so refreshing and honestly so addicting too.
I mean, I've made it pretty much every day since I first put this recipe together. And it's actually been kind of nice because I've been saving myself a ton of money since I'm no longer spending $5+ a day at Starbucks.
I've also been saving myself a ton of time too. One of the best parts about this keto pink drink recipe is that you can make it in well under 5 minutes! All you have to do is brew the tea, mix it with the rest of the ingredients, and top it with whipped cream. That's actually all there is to it.
Sounds pretty easy, right?
By the way, whenever you're in the mood to actually go to Starbucks and order something low carb and keto friendly from the menu, I've got you covered! I put together a list of the best keto Starbucks orders a while back, and I constantly update it. It's a really helpful guide, and it will save you a bunch of time when you're trying to figure out what to order.
Ingredients
Now, another reason to love this keto pink drink recipe is it's made with just a handful of simple ingredients. In fact, there's a good chance that you have most - if not all - of them at your house already.
Anyway, here's what you'll need to make it:
- 2 cups of passion fruit tea
- 3 cups of ice
- ½ cup of heavy cream
- ½ cup of sliced strawberries (fresh or freeze dried strawberries)
- 2 tablespoons sugar free sweetener or sugar free syrup
- Whipped cream
Not bad, eh?
Ingredient Substitutions and Suggestions
Now, I always make this Starbucks keto pink drink recipe with the ingredients listed above because I think it tastes best that way. However, you can definitely make some adjustments if you want, and it'll still turn out just as good.
So, for a dairy free version, you can substitute the heavy whipping cream for unsweetened full fat coconut milk.
You can also use half-and-half or even regular milk, almond milk, soy milk, and other milk alternatives if you want a lighter version, but keep in mind it won't have that super silky creaminess of heavy cream.
If you can't find fresh strawberries, you can use a small amount of freeze-dried strawberries. Just be careful though not to add to many of them though as they're higher in carbs than fresh ones. With that said though, freeze dried strawberries are what Starbucks uses, so the drink will be more authentic if you do use them.
As for the tea, I like to use Tazo passion tea since that's what Starbucks uses to make this iced passion tea drink. But you can use any other brand of your favorite herbal tea bags. Just make sure that whatever herbal tea you use is close to passion fruit in taste - peach, grapefruit, and pomegranate teas will all work.
How to Make Keto Starbucks Pink Drink
Now it's time for the fun part, making this keto pink drink!
As I mentioned, this Starbucks copycat recipe is super quick and easy to make. Trust me, you don't have to be a barista to make it turn out perfect!
Anyway, without further ado, let's get into how to make a keto pink drink at home.
Step 1: Brew The Tea
First things first, take out a pot and add a few cups of water to it. Now put it over high heat and bring the water to a boil.
Once it's boiling, pour the water into a large glass or pitcher and add the two tea bags to it. Steep the passion tea for a few minutes, then remove the tea bags from the water and allow it to cool.
Step 2: Mix The Tea
Now, once the brewed tea cools a little bit, you can add the heavy whipping cream to the tea and give it a mix to combine. The mixture should be light and creamy.
Next, you'll want to add the sweetener of your choice into the mix. I like to use granulated erythritol as my sweetener, but as I mentioned before, any sugar free sweetener - like monk fruit or allulose - will work. You could even use sugar free vanilla syrup to add some more flavor to your keto pink drink.
Lastly, you can add in some fresh strawberries or freeze-dried strawberries and give everything a good mix.
Step 3: Serve The Keto Pink Drink
So, now that your keto pink drink is good to go, you can add some iced cubes to two glasses.
Then, you'll want to equally pour the keto pink drink into the glasses and top it with some whipped cream along with more strawberries. Enjoy!
How to Store Keto Pink Drink
As I just mentioned, this keto pink drink recipe will make two servings or just one large one.
Now, if you have some of this copycat keto pink drink leftover, you can store it in either an airtight container or a sealed glass jar. Stored this way, it'll last in the fridge for about 24 hours.
