    The Best Egg Bites Recipe

We all know and love those classic Starbucks egg bites. They're fluffy, savory, healthy, and just delicious.

And this egg bites recipe makes the same sous vide egg bites that Starbucks has, but I think they're even better! They're packed with cheese, tomato, and bacon and are as tasty as it gets.

Even better yet, you only need a handful of simple ingredients to make this egg bites recipe! Not to mention, all you need to follow are 3 simple steps to make 'em, and they take under 30 minutes to whip up!

Plus, they're totally customizable, and you can add in - or take out - whatever you want from this copycat Starbucks egg bites recipe.

Now, with that said, what I love about this easy breakfast recipe is that it's so healthy. It's packed with protein, it's low carb, and it's super filling. And that literally checks all my boxes for a nutritious breakfast - especially one for weight loss!

Also, these bites are a great breakfast for meal prep since they taste great days after you make them. The egg bites reheat really well, so you can have them ready in seconds before work or on your way out the door.

Oh, and kids love these too, so you can warm up a few before school for a quick, delicious, and nutritious breakfast for the kiddos as well.

By the way, if you want another quick, easy, healthy, and satiating recipe for breakfast, you have to try this weight loss Oreo protein shake. It's one of my go-tos along with these egg bites.

Five egg bites overlapping one another on a white plate.

    Ingredients

As I mentioned, this egg bites recipe takes a few simple ingredients to make. And the fillings for them are easily customizable!

Here's everything you need for this egg bites recipe:

    • 6 eggs
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • ¼ cup heavy cream
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
    • ½ cup chopped tomatoes
    • ¼ cup thinly sliced leek
    • Cooking spray, for greasing the muffin tin

    Pretty simple, right?

A bowl of six eggs, a bowl of crumbled bacon, a bowl of slices green onion, a vine of tomatoes, and a bowl of shredded cheddar cheese all on a white counter.

    Ingredient Additions & Substitutions

Now, I love filling these egg bites with bacon, tomatoes, and leeks, but you can switch it up and fill your egg bites with whatever you want - like chorizo, ham, jalapenos, broccoli, or kale. The opportunities are endless!

You can even make these egg bites with egg whites only. However, keep in mind that you'll need to use more egg whites to equal the volume of whole eggs.

And when it comes to seasonings, you can adjust them to suit your preferences. Feel free to add a dash of oregano, paprika, or even smoked sea salt to make your egg bites pop!

By the way, you can use almost all of these ingredients in this recipe to make my low carb quiche, so you might want to give that a try next!

    How to Make Egg Bites

Alright, so with just a couple of simple kitchen utensils, you can have a healthy serving of these egg bites in less than 30 minutes.

And they're guaranteed to be just as good - if not better - than Starbucks egg bites!

So, let's not waste any more time, and let's get cooking.

A bowl that is filled with whisked egg, tomato, onion, and cheese mixed together.

Step 1: Making The Egg Bite Mixture

First things first, preheat the oven to 355°F (180°C) and grease a mini muffin tin with cooking spray.

Now you can make the egg mixture for these little bites of deliciousness. To do that, add the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper to a large bowl.

Then give these ingredients a good whisk until they fully combine.

    Step 2: Preparing the Mold

Once the eggs are mixed, you can add the cheddar cheese, bacon, chopped tomatoes, and leeks to the bowl and gently stir to combine them in the egg mixture.

Next, carefully pour the egg bite mixture evenly into 24 mini muffin cups. And for some extra cheesiness, you can sprinkle some more shredded cheddar cheese on top.

A mini muffin tray that is filled with cooked egg bites.

Step 3: Baking The Egg Bites

Now that the muffin tins are filled, put the tray in the oven and bake the egg bites for about 15 minutes or until they puff up. By the way, they will deflate after they cool, so don't be alarmed when this happens.

And that's how to make Starbucks egg bites at home. Yup, it's literally that easy.

    Enjoy!

    How to Store Egg Bites

The best part of this egg bites recipe is making a bunch and having them on hand for breakfast all week! And, as you know, this recipe will make 24 egg bites, so you should have plenty left for the week!

As far as how long these keep for, the cooked egg bites will last about 5 days in the refrigerator. And I recommend storing the egg bites in an airtight container.

You can also freeze the egg bites and keep them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.

    How To Reheat Egg Bites

To reheat these low carb egg bites, place them in a microwave-safe bowl or on a plate and microwave in 30-second increments until thoroughly heated. Be sure to keep an eye on them - they shouldn't take long to reheat fully.

Alternatively, you can reheat the bites in an oven or toaster oven set to 325°F for about 10 minutes - if heating from refrigerated - or about 15-20 minutes if reheating from frozen.

Two egg bites on top of six egg bites that are next to cut tomatoes on top of arugula on a white plate.

Faqs about this egg bites recipe

Why are my egg bites rubbery?

If your egg bites are rubbery, then they were probably left in the oven for too long. You'll only want to bake them for around 3 minutes or until the eggs fluff up and the cheese melts. If you bake for too long, the eggs will dry out and have a rubbery texture.

What are the ingredients in Starbucks egg bites?

The base ingredients in Starbucks egg bites are eggs, cheese, garlic powder, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Then there are some additional ingredients based on the flavor. Starbucks offers three flavors - kale and mushrooms, bacon and gruyere cheese, and egg white and roasted red pepper. This copycat recipe is my take on Starbucks egg bites, and I know I'm biased, but I think they're even better than Starbucks!

    Are egg bites healthy?

Egg bites can be super healthy depending on what is in them. This recipe is loaded with spinach and peppers, so having the added veggies along with only eggs and shredded cheese keeps them healthy. And if you want, you can add in other veggies like green onion, mushrooms, broccoli, kale, or really anything that you want.

    Wrapping it All Up

Well, that is how to make egg bites that taste like they're from Starbucks!

They make the perfect breakfast or snack, are totally kid-approved, and are just absolutely delicious!

Not to mention, these little bites of deliciousness are the best way to add some more protein to your day.
