Keto Chili Recipe | Quick, Easy, & Low Carb

This Keto Chili Recipe is about as quick and easy as making chili gets. Literally all you have to do is add the ingredients to a pot, and cook! And the best part is you can make it on your stove-top, but you can also make it in your crockpot, Instant Pot too.

A bowl of keto chili surrounded by tomatoes and peppers.

    Keto Chili

For me, keto chili is the ultimate cold-weather food.

And I live in Buffalo, New York where it's freezing for 8 months of the year, so having a top-notch chili recipe is a must!

That said, today I'm going to share my world-famous recipe with you.

And my hope is that this chili recipe will help you stay warm - and full - all winter long.

Oh, and by the way, I highly recommend making some of this 2 Minute Keto Toast to go with it!

Ok, so, this chili recipe is basically fail-proof.

It's one of those recipes where you can't screw it up...yes, even if you're the worst cook in the world.

Literally, all you have to do is add the ingredients to a pot, stir them a little bit, and bring them to a boil.

Or you could make things even easier on yourself, and use a crockpot or Instant Pot to make it too.

As I said, you really can't mess it up!

    Keto chili in a bowl.

Cooking This Keto Chili On The Stove Top

This is my favorite way to make this chili.

From start-to-finish, it takes about 30 minutes, and it tastes as though it cooked for hours.

That's how rich and deep the flavors are in it.

Now, for this cooking method, you'll want to brown each ingredient before adding the next one.

So, for instance, the bacon gets browned first, and then the onions and garlic get browned with the bacon.

Then the peppers get browned with the bacon, onions, and garlic.

And then lastly the beef gets browned.

Once the beef is cooked through, you can add all of the tomato components to the chili, give those a stir, and then add the spices.

2 Bowls of chili next to each other.

Then after the spices have been added, you can give everything another mix, and bring the chili up to a boil.

So, once you've got it boiling you can give the chili one last mix, turn the heat down to a simmer, and cover the pot.

Now it's just a waiting game.

I like to give my chili about 15-20 minutes to thicken up, but you do you.

Anyways, no matter how long you let your chili simmer for it's always better the next day.

Don't get me wrong, it's good the day you make it, but it always better the day/s after.

And that's really the best thing about making chili, isn't it?!

    Crockpot Keto Chili

Ok, so to make this keto chili in the crockpot you'll want to cook the bacon and the ground beef first before adding them to the pot.

Also, make sure to strain the bacon and beef of any excess grease/oil before adding them to the crockpot as well.

That said, once you've added those to the crockpot just add the rest of the ingredients, and you're done!

Well, almost done. The keto chili will need to cook on high for 3-4 hours, or on low for 6-8 hours.

    Instant Pot Keto Chili

Lastly, you can totally make this keto chili in your instant pot.

Cooking the chili this way is very similar to cooking it in a pot on the stove.

Having said that, you'll want to use the sauté function on the Instant Pot to brown all of the ingredients.

And you'll want to follow the same browning steps found above in the "Stove Top" option.

Then you can add the tomato components, as well as the spices. Then, mix everything up, and close the lid.

Now, set the Instant Pot on the "Meat/Stew" setting and cook!

    Ingredients

    Scale

    2 Cloves of garlic

    1 (70g) Small onion

    1 Green bell pepper (150g)

    1 Yellow bell pepper (150g)

    1 Jalapeño

4 Slices of thick center cut bacon

    2 Lbs 80/20 Ground beef (907g)

1 Cup (236mL) Beef bone broth

15 oz (425g) Keto tomato sauce

10 oz (283g) Can of diced tomatoes & green chilies

    7 oz (200g) Tomato paste

    2 Tbsps (25g) Hot Sauce

    2 Tbsps Chili powder

    1 Tsp Cumin

    1 Tsp Oregano

    1 Tsp Garlic powder

    Pepper to taste

    Instructions

    Stove Top Cooking

Mince the garlic clovces, dice the onion, add them to a small dish, and set them aside.

Next, chop the bell peppers, slice the jalapeno, add those to a medium sized dish, and set them aside.

Now, dice up the bacon into tiny pieces.

Once the bacon is diced, take out a large pot, turn the heat up to medium-high, and add the bacon to the pot.

Now use a wooden spatula to intermitently work the bacon around the pot until it's browned.

When it starts to turn golden burn, add the onions and the garlic, and cook them until the onions become soft and translucent, and the garlic becomes fragrant.

Once that happens, add the peppers, and cook them until browned and soft.

Next, add the ground beef, and break it down into the other ingredients.

Now add the bone broth, and continue working the beef into the other ingredients with youre spatula until it's browned all the way through.

When that happens, add the tomato sauce, the diced tomatoes & green chilies, & the tomato paste.

Now mix those until they're well combined with the other ingredients.

At this point, we can add all of the spices, so we're going to add the hot sauce, chili powder, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, & pepper.

Then we're going to work those into the other ingredients, and bring our chili up to a boil.

Once it starts boiling, we're going to turn down the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer the chili for 15-20 minutes.

    Crockpot Cooking:

Cook the bacon and the ground beef first before adding them to the pot.

Next, strain the bacon and beef of any excess grease/oil before adding them to the crockpot.

Once you've added those to the crockpot, just add the rest of the ingredients.

Then cook on high for 3-4 hours, or on low for 6-8 hours.

    Instant Pot Cooking:

Use the sauté function on the Instant Pot to brown all of the ingredients.

Follow the same browning steps found above in the "Stove Top" option.

Then you can add the tomato components, as well as the spices.

Mix everything up, and close the lid.

Set the Instant Pot on the "Meat/Stew" setting and cook.

30-35 Minute later the chili will be done.
