    THE BEST KETO MARGARITA

Relaxing with friends, taco Tuesday, a weekend drink, or a holiday celebration, anytime is a good time to make this keto margarita.

This classic sweet, sour, and salty combo has to be one of the best keto drinks you can make.

And I put my own personal touch on this skinny margarita recipe that I think totally upgrades the flavor of a regular marg. You'll just have to keep reading to find out my secret ingredients.

Now, personally, I think this keto margarita is so much better with these keto tacos and keto tortilla chips. So, I highly suggest you whip those recipes up along with the margarita for the best experience.

But if you don't feel like cooking, you could always grab something from my Keto Chipotle List.

Anyways, let's get into what we'll be using to make this skinny margarita keto.

Wooden board with a glass filled with margarita on it. There's a lime wedge on top of the ice cubes in the glass and there is one lime wedge in front of the glass on the wooden board.

    INGREDIENTS

So, as I mentioned, I put a spin on a classic marg that makes this drink even more delicious.

Here is what you'll need for the base:

    • 3 oz tequila blanco
    • 2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
    • 1 cup ice cubes
    • 1 oz sparkling water

For the sugar free orange syrup:

    • 3 tablespoon water
    • 3 teaspoon granulated erythritol
    • 1 teaspoon orange zest

    And for garnishing:

    • Lime wedges
    • Salt
    • Fresh mint leaf

I think the mix of orange zest, a little water, sparkling water, and ice blended together gives this keto margarita the perfect balance of everything from taste to texture.

Now, if you want a sweet treat to go with your drink, you can use the granulated erythritol to make these keto churros or this keto flan!

And speaking of granulated erythritol, let's talk a little bit more about it.

Keto margarita ingredients on a white counter. There is a small bowl of erythritol, small bowl of orange zest, a small cup of tequila, a bowl of ice, a small cup of water, if you wind wedges, and a plate of salt.

    MAKING A SUGAR FREE MARGARITA

So, one of the components that makes margaritas so delicious is the touch of sweetness that balances out the sourness and saltiness.

And to make this a keto skinny margarita that is sugar free but has all the sweetness you'd want, I used Granular Swerve in the sugar free orange syrup.

Granular Swerve is a 0 calorie, 0 sugar sweetener that is as sweet as sugar, so it's perfect for this drink.

Another option you have is to use Lakanto's Monk Fruit to sweeten your keto margarita with. This monk fruit based sweetener is pretty much the same as Swerve and will work just as well.

By the way, I actually just used granulated Swerve to make the most refreshing copycat Chick Fil A Diet Lemonade recipe. I highly recommend checking that out if you love tangy drinks.

An empty cup, a small bowl of erythritol, a small bowl of water, and a small bowl of orange sauce all on a white counter.

HOW TO MAKE A KETO MARGARITA

The process of making this margarita keto is super easy and only takes a few minutes.

So you can whip this drink up whenever you want something refreshing and delicious.

And the best part, you can always double, triple, or quadruple this recipe if you are drinking with some friends!

Now let's make a keto skinny margarita!

A cup filled with orange zest, water, and erythritol on a white counter. In front of it is three empty small glass bowls.

    STEP 1: MAKING THE MARGARITAS

First, rim two glasses with salt and set them aside to dry.

Then to make the orange syrup, put the water, erythritol, and orange zest into a large cup and give them a little mix to combine.

Next, pour the orange syrup through a mesh sieve into the blender and add the ice, tequila, and lime juice, and blend for a few seconds until the ingredients are combined.

Then, add the sparkling water to the blender and pulse to combine everything.

A cup pouring orange syrup through a mash Shiva into a blender with margarita ingredients in it. The blender is on a white counter and behind it as part of a cup of ice and in front of it is two empty glass bowls.

STEP 2: SERVING THE KETO MARGARITAS

Now that your margarita is ready to drink, grab the two prepared glasses you set aside earlier.

Then put a few ice cubes in each glass, pour half of the blended margarita into each, and decorate with a lime slice and mint leaf. Cheers!

This was wonderful! Fresh tasting, tart, not overly sweet. We enjoyed this along with our Cinco de Mayo low-carb taco salads. Will definitely be making again.
