The Best Sauteed Shrimp
Now, I may be biased here, but I honestly think this sautéed shrimp is one of the best shrimp recipes ever!
I mean, it's super easy to make, it's made with simple ingredients, and it just tastes so, so good.
And when I say good, I mean lick-your-plate-clean good! Seriously, this sauteed shrimp is juicy and tender, and it's coated in an incredibly flavorful garlic herb butter sauce that you'll want to drizzle over everything and anything.
Plus, as I mentioned earlier, the best thing about this easy shrimp recipe is how fast it is to make. I mean, from start-to-finish it's ready in less than 10 minutes!
Honestly, you'd be hard-pressed to find a quicker - or tastier - dinner recipe! Although this 10-minute lemon garlic mahi mahi comes pretty close.
By the way, if you're looking for an equally quick and delicious side dish to go with this sauteed shrimp recipe, I highly recommend making either this roasted broccolini recipe, this sauteed eggplant recipe, or even this bacon wrapped asparagus to go with it.
Ingredients
In addition to your fresh - or frozen shrimp - you'll only need about 5 ingredients to make this recipe. And the best part is they're all basic kitchen/pantry staples. So, more than likely, you already have everything on hand to make it!
With that said, here are all the ingredients for this sauteed shrimp recipe:
- 5 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1lb. shrimps, peeled and deveined
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
By the way, you can use a lot of these same ingredients to make my Instant Pot shrimp recipe too. It's another fam favorite shrimp recipe we make at our house all the time.
Shrimp To Use
Now, I always make this recipe with fresh shrimp, but frozen shrimp work phenomenally here too! Just be sure to thaw the frozen shrimp and pat it dry before getting started.
By the way, I used large shrimp for this recipe. So, if you're using smaller shrimp, you'll want to cook them for about a minute less than the large shrimp.
Oh, and you can choose to remove the tails or keep them on; it's totally up to you. I like to keep the tails on because they add a ton of extra flavor to the final dish and make the shrimp easier to eat with your hands.
How to Make Sautéed Shrimp
When I said this easy sautéed shrimp recipe cooks up fast, I meant it!
Seriously, from start to finish, this sauteed shrimp recipe literally takes 8 minutes. And yes, that's including prep time!
You literally cook everything together in one pan, and then the shrimp is ready to be served.
Anyway, let's not waste another minute and dive right into this sauteed shrimp recipe.
Step 1: Cook The Shrimp
First, you'll want to melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Then, you can add the garlic paste to the skillet and cook it for about 30 seconds - or until it's fragrant. Once the garlic is aromatic, you can season the shrimp with salt and pepper, and then you can toss it in the pan and cook it for around 5-6 minutes.
With that said, if your shrimp is pre-cooked, you won't need to cook it for as long. You'll most likely need to cook it only for about 3-4 minutes a side.
Step 2: Season The Shrimp
So, now that your shrimp is sauteed, you'll want to sprinkle a little Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper flakes over the top of it and then toss everything together.
Then, you can let the shrimp cook for 1 more minute. And make sure you move it around the pan every few seconds as it continues to cook so it can get totally covered in the garlic butter sauce.
Finally, you can serve your sautéed shrimp warm and enjoy it!
How To Store Cooked Shrimp
This recipe for sauteed shrimp makes enough for 4 servings, so it's perfect for a family dinner - especially if you serve it over some pasta.
Anyway, if you end up with some leftovers, you can store your cooked shrimp in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Alternatively, if you want to keep your leftovers for even longer, you can freeze the cooked shrimp for up to 12 months. To freeze it, just let the shrimp cool, then transfer it to an airtight container or freezer-safe bag and store it in the freezer.
