The Best Air Fryer Salmon Bites

One of my favorite quick and healthy recipes to make myself lately has been these easy air fryer salmon bites. They're moist and flaky on the inside, slightly crispy outside, and each bite of 'em is jam-packed with flavor.

Plus, they're just the most amazing accompaniment to a simple bowl of white rice or steamed veggies.

With that said though, these air fryer salmon bites aren't just super delicious, they're super easy to make too! Seriously, as far as easy salmon recipes go, this one might be the easiest. All you have to do is season the salmon, put it in the air fryer, and kick back and relax while the crispy salmon nuggets cook to air-fried perfection.

How easy - and good - does that sound?!

Honestly, this recipe is so good it's quickly become one of my favorite salmon recipes to make. It's right up there next to my blackened salmon. For real though, I just can't get enough of either of them.

Close up of air fryer salmon cubes in a bowl. The salmon is in a bowl of white rice with asparagus and broccolini with two dollops of dill sauce garnished with fresh chopped dill.

    Ingredients

As I mentioned earlier, you'll only need a handful of basic ingredients to make these flavor-packed salmon bites. And there's a good chance you have all of these in your pantry already!

Anyway, here's everything you'll need to make 'em:

    • 2 Skinless Salmon Fillets
    • 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
    • 1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
    • 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
    • Salt and Pepper

    Simple stuff, right?

Now, if you're picking up salmon from the grocery store, I highly recommend you grab a few fresh or frozen salmon fillets. I know I mentioned that this is one of my favorite salmon recipes, but I have a few more delicious salmon recipes on the blog too - like this garlic butter salmon recipe and pan seared salmon recipe. If you like this salmon recipe, I'm positive you'll also love those!

Two raw salmon fillets on a plate. Surrounding the plate is a bowl of olive oil, a small bowl of soy sauce, a small bowl of garlic powder, salt and pepper shakers, and a plate of steamed asparagus and broccolini.

How to Make Air Fryer Salmon Bites

Again, these air fryer salmon bites are as easy to make as they are to eat.

The recipe only takes around 20 minutes to air fry, and it's as easy as following 2 simple steps. Also, most of the time it takes to make 'em is passive cooking time. It's really just letting the air fryer do the heavy lifting - or cooking - and turn the seasoned salmon into crispy salmon bites!

Anyway, with all that said, let's dive into how to make salmon bites in the air fryer!

Raw cubed salmon on a plate. Surrounding the plate is a bowl of olive oil, smaller bowls of soy sauce and garlic powder, salt and pepper shakers, and a plate of asparagus and broccolini.

Step 1: Season The Salmon Bites

First things first, preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180ºC). Then, cut the salmon fillets into small cubes, around 1-inch in size, and then add them to a small bowl.

Next, drizzle them with olive oil and soy sauce and toss the salmon bites to coat them on every side.

Now, once they're coated, add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl and mix the salmon filet chunks around to coat them evenly in the seasonings.

Raw seasoned salmon cubes in a small bowl. At the lower corner, part of a plate of asparagus and broccolini can be seen next to a tea towel.

Step 2: Air Fry The Salmon Bites

At this point, the air fryer should be warmed up, so you can arrange the salmon cubes in one even layer in the air fryer basket. Ideally, the seasoned salmon bites shouldn't be overlapping one another - this is so they cook evenly. With that said, if they don't all fit in a single layer in your air fryer basket, you'll want to cook them in batches.

Anyway, once you've got them situated in the basket you can air fry the salmon nuggets for around 15 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 135°F.

Then, once the salmon bites are done cooking, you can serve them as a salmon bites bowl with cooked rice, steamed broccoli, and this dill sauce. Honestly, they're even great "naked" - without the creamy sauce and additional ingredients.

What to Serve with Salmon Bites

Now, as I mentioned earlier, my favorite way to serve these air fryer salmon nuggets is with white rice and some steamed/roasted veggies. However, with that said, there are so many other delicious ways to enjoy them since they're so versatile!

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

    • Serve the salmon nuggets over some white rice and savory sauteed eggplant. Also, a drizzle of this stir fry sauce over all of that stuff really takes the deliciousness of the dish up to 11.
    • Serve 'em next to some roasted kohlrabi or roasted broccolini for a tasty low carb lunch or dinner.
    • For more of a comforting meal, pair the air fryer salmon nuggets with these cheddar bay biscuits and cauliflower mashed potatoes.

How to Store Cooked Salmon Bites

This recipe for air fryer salmon bites will make about 2 servings. So, if you're making these for a family dinner - or for meal prep - you'll want to double - or triple - the recipe.

Then, if by chance you end up making too many you can just store your leftover salmon nuggets in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

They'll also keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. For freezing, store them in a freezer bag with the extra air squeezed out.

The basket is on top of a cutting board and it's surrounded by a small bowl of lemon wedges, a small bowl of chopped dill, a medium bowl of dill sauce, and part of a plate of asparagus and broccolini.

    How To Reheat Salmon Bites

Now, while these air fryer salmon bites are actually really delicious eaten cold, I know many of you will want to warm them back up when you're ready to enjoy them again.

So, to reheat the cooked salmon bites, just put them back in the air fryer at 325°F for about 5-ish minutes - or until they reach your desired temperature.

    Wrapping it Up

Well, that's how to make air fried salmon bites in just a couple of quick and easy steps!

This air fryer recipe is a fool-proof way to cook salmon perfectly every single time. And I love that it takes pretty much no effort - or work - from me to do it.

Also, clean-up is a breeze with this recipe, and you know I'm about that life.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these air fryer salmon bites as much as I/we do!
