The Best Air Fryer Tortilla Pizza
If you love pizza but don't want all the calories or the hassle of making one from scratch, this air fryer tortilla pizza is everything you need.
The "crust" is super crispy and thin, and you can top it off with anything that you want! And I know this technically doesn't have a crust, but it honestly has the same texture and consistency as a super thin crust pizza.
Plus, it's so much easier to make than using actual dough, and it saves a ton of calories too!
Especially if you use some low carb and high fiber tortilla wraps. I like to use these carb balance ones that Mission makes and I highly recommend using them for the tortilla pizzas.
Anyway, as I already mentioned, this tortilla pizza recipe takes literally 5 minutes to make! So it's the perfect recipe that the entire family can enjoy on a busy weeknight, or weekend.
Not to mention, everyone can customize their own pizza, and they'll all still be ready quicker than if you ordered one!
Now, I have been obsessed with making this tortilla pizza air fryer style for all of the reasons I just mentioned, and I wouldn't be surprised if you get hooked too.
And when I say obsessed, I mean that I've been making it two or three times a day.
Yeah, that obsessed.
Ingredients
A big reason I love this air fryer tortilla pizzas recipe is how simple it is to put together.
All you have to do is pick out your favorite toppings, assemble the pizza, and let the air fryer do the rest.
Here's what I use to make this air fryer tortilla pizza:
- ½ tsp. olive oil
- 1 8-inch flour tortilla
- ¼ cup low calorie pizza sauce
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Super simple ingredients. Way easier than making an actual pizza.
Now, if you want a more traditional cheese pizza, you can use pretty much all of these ingredients to make this low carb pizza and chicken crust pizza! Just like air fryer tortilla pizzas, you can add any pizza toppings you want to them.
Pizza Topping Ideas
So, you can use literally anything you want to put this pizza together!
Some other fun sauces to try are this BBQ sauce and alfredo sauce. Then you can top the pizza off with this shredded chicken!
You could also create a white pizza, meat lovers pizza, veggie pizza, or any other pizza combo in existence. So, get creative and try something new every time. Or you can just stick to the classics and make a cheese pizza or cheese and pepperoni pizza.
Oh, and another fun way to change up this healthy tortilla pizza is by using different tortilla shells. So whatever you like, such as wheat, white, spinach, gluten free, or low carb, all work great!
How to make air fryer tortilla pizza
As I've said a few times, this air fryer tortilla pizza is insanely easy to make. And it's really quick too!
So, let's not waste any more time and get right in the recipe!
Step 1: Prepping The Pizza
First, place the tortilla of your choice in the air fryer basket. I used an 8 inch tortilla shell, but you might have to use a different size depending on the size of your air fryer basket.
Now, brush the tortilla with olive oil to crisp up the crust.
Follow that up by spreading pizza sauce on top of the shell, then add the mozzarella cheese on top of that, and lastly the toppings of your choice.
Step 2: Cooking The Pizza
Once the pizza is ready, air fry it at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
And make sure to check the pizza 3-4 minutes after air frying to see how it's coming along and ensure it doesn't overcook.
Then, when the tortilla pizza is air fried to perfection, carefully remove it from the air fryer basket, slice however you want, and enjoy!
Storing Tortilla Pizza In The Fridge
This personal pan-style pizza will be pretty much impossible not to eat in one sitting.
Seriously, every time I make this, I finish it off pretty quickly. And since it's so easy to make again, I never try to save some for the next day - I just end up making another pizza.
But, if you can't finish it and want to save it for later, either store the slices in an airtight container, sealable bag, or gently wrap in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Then you can keep it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheating Tortilla Pizza
I personally like eating cold pizza, but if you want to reheat the leftover tortilla pizza, you can warm it up the same way you cooked it - in the air fryer!
First, transfer the slices to the air fryer basket, then air fry at 350°F (175°C) for a couple minutes or until warm. Make sure to check it frequently to see how it's coming along and so it doesn't burn.
