These air fryer sweet potato fries are beyond addictive!
They're perfectly seasoned with a crispy exterior and soft, tender center. And, honestly, they're just as delicious on their own as they are with your favorite dipping sauce.
Also, these air fryer sweet potato fries are about as quick and easy as making fries gets. All you need are some sweet potatoes, a few spice cabinet staples, and less than 5 minutes to prep 'em. Then, the air fryer does all of the heavy lifting!
Plus, these air fried sweet potato fries are actually good for you.
I mean, they're way healthier than the deep fried kind. By making sweet potato fries in the air fryer - instead of the deep fryer - you'll need to use hardly any oil to make 'em. And that means you'll save a ton of calories.
On top of how easy, healthy, and delicious these fries are they make an awesome side dish to really any meal. And they're right up there with some of my other air fryer veggie recipes like these kale chips and these brussel sprouts!

Again, all you need to make these crispy and flavorful air fryer sweet potato fries are a handful of small sweet potatoes and 5 simple ingredients. And, as I said before, they're all cabinet staples. So you probably have them on hand already!
Anyway, here are all of the ingredients you'll need to make these healthy sweet potato fries:
- 4 Small Sweet Potatoes
- 1 tsp. Smoked Paprika
- ½ tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp. Sea Salt
- 1 tbsp. Olive Oil or Melted Butter
Yup, that's all you need!
Ingredient Suggestions and Substitutions
Now, if you're using large sweet potatoes - instead of small ones - you'll only need 2 or 3 of them.
With that said though, you really can use as many sweet potatoes as you'd like and make as many air fryer sweet potato fries as possible from them. But, just keep in mind, if you do choose to do that you'll also want to increase the quantities of the seasonings you use from them as well.
By the way, you can also use purple sweet potatoes or white sweet potatoes for this recipe! Both will work great to make fries in the air fryer with.
Also, just so you know, these air fryer sweet potato fries are terrific dipped in one of these low calorie sauces. But, I'll go over some other sauces they go well with later too.
How to Make Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
Again, making sweet potatoes in the air fryer is so effortless. This entire recipe only takes about 15 minutes from start to finish, and most of that is air frying time.
And to make things even better, I also included instructions on how to make sweet potato wedges instead of sticks for a little french fry shape change up.
Anyway, now let's not waste any more time and make some crave-worthy air fryer sweet potato fries!

Step 1: Prepare The Sweet Potato Fries
First, clean the sweet potatoes thoroughly, scrubbing them as needed.
Then, cut off both ends of the potatoes and slice them into sticks about ¼ inch in thickness for fries.
Alternatively, you can cut them into wedges. To do that, slice the sweet potatoes lengthwise in half and then cut each piece lengthwise in half until you have 8 wedges.
And, again, I used small sweet potatoes to make my fries, so if you're using longer ones you may want to cut your sticks in half. Otherwise they may be too long.
Step 2: Season the Sweet Potatoes
Before moving on, preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180ºC).
Then, while your air fryer is warming up, take out a small bowl and combine your spices and seasonings - the smoked paprika, cinnamon, garlic powder, and sea salt.
Now, place the cut sweet potatoes in a medium-sized bowl and drizzle them with olive oil or melted butter. You can also use oil spray if you have it.
Then, sprinkle on the seasoning mix, and toss everything together to evenly coat the sweet potato fries.
Step 3: Air Fry The Sweet Potatoes
So, now you'll want to arrange your sweet potato sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
With that said, if everything doesn't fit in one layer, you can also cook them in batches.
Air fry the fries for 12 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are golden brown, shaking - or flipping - halfway through for even cooking.
Then, transfer them to a drying rack or paper towel-lined plate.
Finish cooking the rest of the air fryer sweet potato fries, then serve with your choice of dip and enjoy!

How to Store Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
This recipe for sweet potato fries will make about 4 servings. But, if you don't finish all of them, don't worry. They're terrific the next day - and even days - after you make 'em.
Speaking of left overs, you can store your leftover sweet potato fries in an airtight container in the fridge, and they'll stay good for up to 5 days.
Alternatively, you can freeze them in a freezer bag with the extra air squeezed out. They'll keep for up to 3 months. Honestly, this is what I usually do when I make 'em.
I love making a double batch of these air fryer sweet potato fries and freezing the leftover batch, so I always have them on hand. It's like having the frozen ones from the store, but way better.
Reheating Sweet Potato Fries
To reheat your air fryer sweet potato fries, simply pop them in an air fryer preheated to 400°F (200°C) for 3-4 minutes.
However, if you're starting with frozen fries, you'll want to air fry them for about 10 minutes.
Again, just make sure to keep everything in a single layer in the air fryer basket. And don't forget to shake halfway through to make sure everything cooks evenly.
Wrapping It Up
